        Take it easy. Just because you have the impression that your vision improved a lot after the surgery, you are still in the cataract surgery recovery period. Your surgeon will probably tell you that you can watch TV, read, write and you can go walking. But if you are tempted to do more than all these, you'd better think it twice and take it easy.

       After the surgery is over, the doctor will place a protective bandage on your eye. After you stay a little time in the ambulatory area, you can go home. But you should get a driver. It's not safe for you to drive. The surgeon will prescribe you some eye drops for you to administer every day during few weeks. You also have to wear your protective bandage when you sleep, for about a week after the operation. You will receive sun glasses for the protection of the eye in bright light.

• Intensive activities and heavy lifting;
• Physical exercises like bending and others that could stress your eye;

• Swimming as well is forbidden for at least two weeks.
• Any activity that can expose your eye to waste.

       You need six weeks time for recovery. During cataract operation recovery, the patients may feel some pain and irritation of the eye. Some patients experience very increased sensitivity at light. Some special pills and drops will be prescribed by the surgeon for healing and for regulating the pressure in the eye. Also, during recovery you will follow up lots of exams for monitoring the progress. Sunglasses or eye bandages will help you protect the eye.
